Channel Impact Takes on Breast Cancer

Published On: October 7, 2016Categories: Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Buzz, Uncategorized

Giving back is extremely important to us at Channel Impact, and every year we hold an appreciation event for our customers and employees. This year, I wanted to do something a little different and focus our appreciation efforts towards breast cancer prevention. With a growing number of Channel Impact employees, customers, colleagues, friends and their spouses impacted by the disease — the choice was clear.

While these individuals in our tight-knit community have our support all year long, Channel Impact is very pleased to participate in National Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October. Our goal is two-fold. First, to reduce the chances that future generations will suffer from the disease. Currently, about one in eight women in the U.S. alone will develop invasive breast cancer in the course of their lifetime. That’s a startling statistic! Secondly, to inspire other business owners and leaders to implement workplace practices, and embrace collaborative technologies, that enable those who are battling this disease to have the option to avoid disability leave if they want to. In our industry we are surrounded by amazing technology, that can give cancer patients the flexibility to work from home, while recovering from cancer treatments.

On October 15, Channel Impact will attend a benefit concert hosted by Notes4Hope, an amazing charitable organization focused on breast cancer prevention. Notes4Hope’s founder is our very own Sandy Preto, a Channel Impact employee. On our blog this month you’ll have the opportunity to hear Sandy’s compelling story, and we’ll also spotlight two other courageous women who have touched our lives while battling the disease.

All three of these ladies are hard-working executives who have inspired others with their strength, optimism and bravery, even in the face of their greatest challenges. As you read about them on our blog, we hope you’ll also be inspired to not only support breast cancer awareness, but to also establish a proper defense against the disease yourself — whether it’s scheduling your annual mammogram, being more cognizant about nutrition or making your way to healthier living overall.

How can you help? Check out Notes4Hope and support a great cause!
